CHARACTER DRAWING ACADEMY
Final Assignment 1 (FA1): Character Drawing
Recommended Time Investment: 3-6 Hours Per piece
Recommended Frequency: --
Utilising all you have learned, create 5x final character drawings as your final assignment in this course. You will need to ensure you have invested the relevant time into your exercises from each module before attempting this assignment.
Character drawings can be full-body, thigh-up or busts, and must be completed and finished professionally with final refined lines.
Feel free to work in whatever stylization is most appealing to you, however be sure you are always implementing foundational theory, and drawing in a solid and logical workflow.
Before you begin each piece of art, take time to think about and contemplate the story, emotions and feelings of the characters, and more specifically, think about the relationship between their facial expression, pose and outfit. It would be wise to do some preliminary thumbnail sketches and jot down some notes.
Finally, ensure a professional page layout.
Compare the final outcome of this assignment with the first assignments you did in the course. What do you think?
REMINDER: Almost every lesson taught in the course counts as theory that should be practically implemented into your work. Utilize your checklists from Module 6 if you need additional guidance in drawing out these characters.
